I was so excited when Destination I Do magazine contacted me for some ”quintessential wine country” images for a feature they were planning to do on “Wine Country Couture.” They had a particular vision in mind, and I knew that the detail images from a recent wedding shot at the rustic yet elegant Atwood Ranch in Sonoma would be perfect. If you haven’t seen the posts featuring work from Atwood Ranch, you can see them here.

Napa Valley Wedding Photography | Tra Vigne | Chelsea and Greg

Chelsea and Greg were married at the Lovely Tra Vigne in St. Helena. The wedding was truly a labor of love . Chelsea and Greg came in from New York, and family and friends joined the celebration from all over. Chelsea’s sister arranged the gorgeous flowers, Greg’s brother officiated, and other family members entertained on the drums and guitar. Their parents even cut stumps of wood from their own yard to put the cakes on!

Tra Vigne did a wonderful job ensuring that the festivities ran smoothly. The food was divine, and so was the decor. Thanks Chelsea and Greg for a great day! Much happiness always!

Patricia and Mike were married at the lovely Bellisimo Vineyards in Calistoga. Patricia stunned in a Lazaro gown and Jimmy Choo wedding shoes. Yes, I went a little nuts with the shoe shots!! It was wonderful to be a part of such an intimate celebration with friends and family. No detail was overlooked, and there will be plenty more images to come from this beautiful day. It was a pleasure to photograph Charlotte and Coley who eloped in the Napa Valley. I love the intimacy and simplicity of these types of weddings. They flew in from Southern California that morning, picked up their little cake from Sweetie Pies in Napa, quickly got dressed and met me downtown. Absolutely fabulous!! Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn Wedding ~ Erin and Andrew

It was a beautiful day for a wedding at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn. Erin was a stunningly gorgeous bride, and Andy a simply dashing groom. The chemistry between the two of them was like magic……. It was wonderful to photograph them, and to be a part of their day.

Thank you to a fantastic team of San Francisco Bay Area vendors who helped make this day extra special. Erin brought her hair stylist up from Beverly Hills…….and I could see why when I saw how beyond amazing her hair was! Be sure to check out Dean Roybal at Planet Salon. They say that the wedding day is all about the bride……and that’s mostly true. I love creating beautiful, timeless images of the bride and couple. However, when I get a groom willing to rock the camera, I am so there! During the reception, I wanted to create some edgy video light shots featuring Jeramy’s tattoos. He was more than happy to sneak away with his gorgeous bride for a few minutes to create these images. This is something I talk about with my clients ahead of time, as creating images like this means taking the time out to do them. They are not candid, and can’t be created without client participation. After I took a few shots of Jeramy, Sarah joined in and we were able to create a romantic and sexy image for them. One of my favorites for sure! Of course, there is plenty of time in the day for fabulous candid photography too! I’ll be talking about scheduling time within the wedding day to create images like this in San Francisco, at PPGBA February 25th. If you’re a photographer and would like to hear more about this and other important topics…..we hope to see you there!

Napa Valley Wedding ~ So Vintage

Maybe it was the downtown Napa location that inspired the vintage feel for this wedding. Maybe it was that we started so early in the morning before the hustle and bustle. The Sunday morning quiet, and crisp morning light is what made the first image possible.

Angie and Jim were married at the lovely V. Sattui Winery in St. Helena. We started the day at the fabulous White House Inn and Spa in Napa before heading over to V. Sattui for the ceremony. I loved everything about Angie and Jim, and felt blessed to be a part of such a beautiful day. Thanks to the bridal party for being so cool, and just fun to work with! Napa Wedding | Avia Hotel and Brix | Queennette and Mathew

The day started early……with photography coverage starting at 7:45 am. It couldn’t have been a more beautiful morning in Napa……..perfect for what we had in mind. We started the day at the hip new Avia Hotel conveniently located in downtown Napa, and definitely worth taking a look at the next time you are in the Napa Valley! My assistant and I noticed the Uptown Theater right around the corner, and devised an impromtu plan to bring Queennette there for some fun shots. Of course I was even more excited when I saw the white 1937 Cadillac Sedan courtesy of Vintage Wine Tours of Sonoma. Thank you to Eric for being the best chauffeur ever! Thank you Queennette and Matt for sharing your day with me. Happiness always!

Flowers by Polly with Valley Flora. She never fails to do an amazing job! My clients love her, and she is wonderful to work with! The ultra modern velvet green chair in the room at Avia was beyond perfect for this shot of the bouquet.

Winery Wedding| Sonoma | Cyndie and George

Cyndie called me on a Wednesday. She planned to elope on Saturday. Nothing was planned, but she was going to make it happen. We hit it off immediately, and quickly devised a plan! Within 24 hours, she had her dress, and a pair of sassy red shoes! They married in a field……….. just the two of them, and I cried silently just like I always do at weddings. Their open and spontaneous personalities reflected in the images we created!

Thanks to Sweetie Pies Bakery in Napa for the darling cake topper, and to Polly at Valley Flora for creating a stunning bouquet at the last minute!!

Congratulations to you both, and thanks for bringing me along! It was awesome.

I had such a great time shooting with my amazing friend Kim Sayre with Mill Cottage Photography last weekend. Hans Fahden Vineyards was so beautiful, and is the perfect setting for an intimate wedding . The grounds at Hans Fahden are stunning to say the least. Willow and Cesar were married on a gorgeous October day at the Historic Sonoma Mission. The celebration began the day before with a fabulous picnic. Guests enjoyed a bright sunny day, wonderful food, music, wine, and laughter! Willow was a beautiful and sophisticated bride.
