Anne Appleman ~ Florist

While on a shoot in Sonoma, I noticed Anne Appleman’s Studio nearby.  I had shot at that location several times before, but never noticed it.  Having worked with Anne at a recent Atwood Ranch wedding, I was excited to take a peek inside.  The Studio is warm and welcoming, with the sweet smell of flowers in the air.  I kind of felt like Ferdinand the Bull as I took it all in.  They were kind enough to allow me to take a few shots, and sent me on my way with a cheery bouquet of yellow tulips.  A lovely start to a nice day in Sonoma.

Another gorgeous creation from Polly at Valley Flora!  It was wonderful to work with them at so many weddings this season, and to photograph such amazing arrangements!  I’m looking forward to seeing their 2010 creations!

Angie and Jim were married at the lovely V. Sattui  Winery in St. Helena.  We started the day at the fabulous  White House Inn and Spa  in Napa before heading over to V. Sattui for the ceremony.   I loved everything about Angie and Jim, and felt blessed to be a part of such a beautiful day.  Thanks to the bridal party for being so cool, and just fun to work with! Dress by Jim Hjelm,  Wedding Shoes by Kate Spade,  Wedding day Flowers by Polly at Valley Flora in Napa.  Absolutely delicious food provided by Knickerbockers’ Catering in St. Helena.   Angie’s gorgeous hair and make up were done by Holli Wernli  and Kathy Loftis  with Bella Capelli Salon Spa in Napa.

Cathy and  Jay were married at  Viansa Winery  in Sonoma on a gorgeous September day.   They were surrounded by their dearest friends and family, most of whom had traveled far to join them for their destination wedding in the wine country.  It couldn’t have been a more beautiful day!  Congratulations Cathy and Jay!  It was wonderful to be a part of your celebration.  Thank you again Polly with Valley Flora for the lovely flowers!

I visited your blog yesterday for the first time and was struck by that first shot, of the bride against a magnificent deep yellow wall. Just exquisite. Didn’t have time to peruse further however as I had to tend to my son… I’m back today, and lo and behold, you’ve posted another gorgeous wedding.

I LOVE the colour and clarity of the bride’s eyes in the third shot down. I adore the sweetness of the bride’s father holding himself as he walks his daughter down the aisle. Beautiful, beautiful work.

Cyndie called me on a Wednesday. She planned to elope on Saturday.  Nothing was planned, but she was going to make it happen.   We hit it off immediately, and quickly devised a plan!  Within 24 hours, she had her dress,  and a  pair of sassy red shoes!  They married in a field……….. just the two of them, and I cried silently just like I always do at weddings.  Their open and spontaneous personalities reflected in the images we created! 

Thanks to Sweetie Pies Bakery in Napa for the darling cake topper, and to Polly at Valley Flora  for creating a stunning bouquet at the last minute!! 

 Congratulations to you both, and thanks for bringing me along! It was awesome.

Two weeks ago, I shot the most amazing Wedding at the historic Sonoma Mission. ( A post on that wedding will be coming soon!)
I couldn’t help but notice how unique and amazing the bride’s fower arrangement was. When we arrived at Estate for the reception, I was truly impressed with how the wedding’s theme was carried out in every floral arrangement. Just stunning! The bride worked closely with Polly Harrington of Valley Flora, who according to my client “was a dream to work with”.
