Congratulations Kim and James, who were recently married vintage style in Fairfield. We started the day with some bridal boudoir before heading out on location for a few fun shots. It was a beautiful day, filled with love, laughter, and tears too. Bridal make up by Shannon at Spa Voutique. I’m so excited that Kimberly’s May wedding is almost here! She booked me 15 months ago, so it’s almost surreal that the big day is right around the corner. Since I also offer bridal make up services to my clients through Spa Voutique, we decided to schedule a trial run. The fabulous Holly with “I Do! Bridal” will be doing Kim’s hair on the wedding day, so we scheduled her trial run for hair the same day. It only seemed fitting to get a few shots of her looking fabulous! Thanks Kim for a fun day!

Maybe it was the downtown Napa location that inspired the vintage feel for this wedding. Maybe it was that we started so early in the morning before the hustle and bustle. The Sunday morning quiet, and crisp morning light is what made the first image possible.

Well I have been a busy girl processing all my fabulous fall weddings. It really was a memorable season filled with the best clients and gorgeous weddings. It’s hard to find time to blog more than a few images from each wedding sometimes……..but I plan to keep you updated with additional posts in the coming months. Thought I would share a few more from Tarah and John’s lovely wedding at the Meritage Resort in the Napa Valley.

that first shot is gorgeous!
The day started early……with photography coverage starting at 7:45 am. It couldn’t have been a more beautiful morning in Napa……..perfect for what we had in mind. We started the day at the hip new Avia Hotel conveniently located in downtown Napa, and definitely worth taking a look at the next time you are in the Napa Valley! My assistant and I noticed the Uptown Theater right around the corner, and devised an impromtu plan to bring Queennette there for some fun shots. Of course I was even more excited when I saw the white 1937 Cadillac Sedan courtesy of Vintage Wine Tours of Sonoma. Thank you to Eric for being the best chauffeur ever! Thank you Queennette and Matt for sharing your day with me. Happiness always!
Flowers by Polly with Valley Flora. She never fails to do an amazing job! My clients love her, and she is wonderful to work with! The ultra modern velvet green chair in the room at Avia was beyond perfect for this shot of the bouquet.

Tarah and John were married at the gorgeous Meritage Resort in Napa. It was an especially fabulous day, because Tarah is also a wedding photographer! They were both completely at ease in front of the camera, so it made my job even more fun! Meritage Resort wedding coordinator Melissa Caraway was fantastic, and made sure everything ran smoothly. Thanks for your help Melissa! Tarah and John…..thank you for being so gracious, and for allowing me to capture the love between you. It was a fabulous day! Oh! That wall! Oh! The details… the buttery skin, the beautiful couple, the love… Oh! Oh! Oh! I was about to write, ‘That first shot’.. and then ‘Those first two shots’ but kept having to include the next photo… all of these are fantastic. The light delights!

Cyndie called me on a Wednesday. She planned to elope on Saturday. Nothing was planned, but she was going to make it happen. We hit it off immediately, and quickly devised a plan! Within 24 hours, she had her dress, and a pair of sassy red shoes! They married in a field……….. just the two of them, and I cried silently just like I always do at weddings. Their open and spontaneous personalities reflected in the images we created!
Thanks to Sweetie Pies Bakery in Napa for the darling cake topper, and to Polly at Valley Flora for creating a stunning bouquet at the last minute!!
Congratulations to you both, and thanks for bringing me along! It was awesome.

What an amazing place for a wedding! If you’re planning a wine country wedding in Sonoma County, please take a look at the Madrona Manor. The grounds are simply gorgeous…..especially in the Spring. The tulips are simply fabulous!! Melissa fell in love with the property as soon as she found it, and knew she had to be married there!

do you do post production on all of your pics for your clients? also, do you only use digital or do you use film as well?
